Jeeves Departs

If I’m not mistaken, today (Sunday) Jeeves, the butler at Ask Jeeves, has finally departed. Ask.com has been weeding him out over several months to see how people take it. I enjoyed the “personality” Jeeves was giving this search engine, which went beyond mere drawing of funky variations of the corporate logo (*cough* Google). I see Ask.com even took down the link to Jeeve’s retirement apology by the end of the day.

Plenty has been written about the new management at Ask.com disliking the butler personage, so I’m not going to rehash it here. The best of luck to Ask.com with the new look and strategy.

You might want to take the list off to jeevesretirement.com (aspnetresources.com/blog/jeeves_retires.aspx) as it now links to a site that some visitors may find offensive.... doesn't bother me but some viewers might not realise you aren't linking to porn on purpose!

Thank you for heads-up! It didn't even enter my mind that the corporation behind Ask would be so stupid as to let that domain go. Truly stupid of them.
