Live.com: Where Is Alignment?

Since the last redesign of Live.com, I kept waiting for them to do something about the apparent lack of alignment. Alignment is one of the very basic principles of UI design. I discussed it back when I had fun with the latest rendering of Microsoft.com.

Live.com home page: broken alignment

The search box, with all its accompanying adornment, is just hanging nowhere, without visual connection to anything. As much as I appreciate good examples of proverbial “out of the box thinking,” this isn’t it. This is sloppiness.

I would be remiss to not make an obvious comparison with Google.com:

Also huge alignment differences between ie7 & ff3. Try personalizing your my.live.com; and I quote; "this may take a few minutes" (it actually does take a few _minutes_!!!

And the best is if you look at the site with Opera. Then the two vertical lines next to the word "Web" above the search field, are totally misaligned.

Ooooops so it's miss by microsoft. There are many problems in alignments and CSS. It's being displayed differently in mostly all browers and resolutions
