SQL 2005 Service Manager Resurrected

SQL Server 2005 is missing a very handy tool—the little Service Manager app which sits in the tray and allows you to see the status, start, and stop SQL Server instance(s). I loved that tool. Apparently, Jasper Smith suffered similar separation anxiety, so he wrote a Service Manager of his own.

Great tool, thanks for sharing! The SQL Service use so much RAM, it's nice to have an easier way to switch them on and off.

Yes, it is a great tool. But unfortunatelly it consumes as much memory as SQL Server itself - 21 MBytes !!! (sort of...) :-) This footprint isn't justifiable for such a simple program.

This version is fine, but is requires .net framework.

I found another great sql service manager, which does'nt require .net framework and consume very little memory:
